OTIS (Odd Things I've Seen): Skull in the Family

OTIS (Odd Things I've Seen): Skull in the Family: October 4, 2013 — Last Halloween, I bought my first full-sized plastic skeleton. I found him at Target and had no real plans for him...

This guy should live next to us!  Our skeletons would be able to visit and his skellies could come over for a dinner date!

Canadian Nickel Scrap'n: DECORE; Halloween Count Down

This blog is one that I follow -- a fellow Canuck who loves Halloween!  I love countdown calendars.  We have at least 4 that I can see in our living/dining room area.  This one is just perfect and needs to be shared!

Canadian Nickel Scrap'n: DECORE; Halloween Count Down: And I am counting! I made this about last month so I could get counting.

Halloween at the store

Here is a photo of one of the windows of Store #1 at the 1000 Islands Mall.
Uniquely Creative now has 3 stores in the mall - the stores are filled with products and creations from local crafters and artisans.  The tombstone and the wrought iron candelabra are from my personal Halloween decor stash but everything else in the window are items made by the crafters in this store.

Outside decor is key!

Came across this photo and blog post -- it's from 2010 - the result is great! Other than some fantastic photos and up close pics, you'll also find a tutorials on making tombstones, the dancing ghosts and the evil eyes in the windows of the house!

If you want to make big impact without breaking your budget, this blog has the details.   Check out the post HERE

Spooky Tree - glass block DIY project

How many bats can you find hiding on and around this spooky tree?

Phantom's Rock Cemetery

With the glorious fall weather on Saturday we were able to almost finish putting the cemetery up.

There are still a few items to put out but they won't make an appearance until the day of our Halloween party and then again for October 31st.   Most of the extra items to come outside are not 100% weather-proof so a little bit more work will be required to put the finishing touches on the final product.

Here are some more photos from our efforts while watching the leaves fall off the trees...

Haunted House papercraft

This paper craft is a haunted house which can hold 3 tea lights.  One of the new Halloween decor items I made this year using my new Silhouette Cameo.
