It begins...
It has been decided that Halloween season officially begins on September 1 and lasts until 11:59 p.m., October 31. There is far too much to see, do, taste, touch, listen to, scare, hide and/or run from to contain within the 31 available days in October.
Thank you for your cooperation.

What a fabulous night!
Mother Nature spooked us a bit ... she started to sprinkle a few drops about 5pm last night so up went the blue tent to keep the coffin dry. We had a huge turnout of kids and teens and adults. So many had seen the local newspaper article about our Halloween Home and they had to come out to see it in person. Lots of pictures were taken with the Predator and there were some (young and old) who freaked out a bit at the menacing costume. All in all a great night.
And if you want to read the newspaper article of our Halloween Home --> STORY HERE
A few photos from my phone as we got ready to greet the Trick or Treaters:
And finally, some photos of the Predator

Today is the THE DAY!
YIPPEE!!! After 364 days of waiting and planning and ideas and and and... it's finally HALLOWWEEN!! The only sucky thing about today is that I have to work. I really need to re-think my career choice - as a bookkeeper, month end is just a bear and doesn't go away on the most special day of the year. Luckily my hours are good and I am a 3 minute drive from home so I will have time to help with 'the costume' which everyone is talking about as well as make sure our candy stash is ready to go. I'm dressing up too (of course) but my costume only takes a few minutes to put on.
For those in the local area, if you read the Recorder & Times you may find us inside. We were interviewed and photographed and hopefully the pics came out ok. We'll be buying a few issues today if the spread looks good in print LOL
Display your jack-o-lanterns, grab the candy dish and turn on your porch light so the little goblins and princesses can enjoy the evening going from door to door. To those who will be out and about tonight, be safe and enjoy the fun!
Happy Halloween!

What a great party!
All the planning, the food, the decorating -- all of it worked very well to create a wonderful party for our annual Halloween party. Family and friends who joined us had some fantastic costumes and to those who aced the halloween quiz - well done!!
Yesterday we spent the day lounging and catching up on other mundane stuff. Had some leftover party food for snacking while watching The Predator movie again. Even managed to get a nap in to recharge our batteries after such a fun-filled but hectic week as we geared up for the party. We just need to replenish the candy we've eaten from the trick-or-treat stash! Rule #1 always buy candy that you like so that if there are leftovers you'll enjoy them. Rule #2 remember to buy more candy a day or two before Halloween because you've eaten half the box of the candy you like LOL
Have some awesome news about our Halloween house but I'll have to wait a few more days until I can share the details...
