Lots and lots of chocolates!

Nowadays you don't make treats for the trick-or-treaters - most parents throw them out. But if you have a party and want to impress your guests, making themed chocolates is the thing to do! Since we are having a party and I have the moulds (which I bought at Michaels and Winners a while ago on one our many shopping sprees) so... I spent an afternoon making chocolates for the party. 

Candy Corn vs. Spiders - in my world they both lose!

There are two things about Halloween that I am not in love with.  One is spiders.  The other is the taste of candy corn.

I suffer from arachnophobia. Seriously suffer.  Pathologically arachnophobic. The smallest spider sends me screeching.  And I'm not alone.  In Western societies as many as 55% of females and 18% of males are estimated to experience arachnophobia.  But I love cobwebs.  I think cobwebs are amazing and I can appreciate the work that went into making a good web but I fear spiders.  Weird eh?

The other thing I don't like is candy corn. I love to look at it but I hate the way it tastes. Makes for a wonderful project like the filled bottles you see in the photo, but I just can't stomach the thought of eating it. I know some people just LOVE it so maybe my taste buds are just not impressed when there are chocolate bars and other goodies waiting to be consumed.  If you want to see how these bottles were created, check out the HOW TO

Now if I could get the spiders to eat all the candy corn my world would be a happier place!  

Costume Stuff to share

This is the project my sweetie has been working on for the past few months...

his Predator costume.  

I can't show you the lower half yet because he isn't quite finished. Plus he is missing some armour so I'll have to get another photo once the armour is returned (it's currently being painted).

A new candy holder

I know that many kids probably won't be so quick to try and get some candy from this guy!  He is a bit gruesome but that's what makes him such a good candy holder...although to be honest, I have no problem taking candy from his bowl - he doesn't scare me anymore! 

Every party needs a bouncer...

This is Nemesis.

Isn't he amazing!?

He will preside over our party and make sure that no party-goer gets out of hand.  Standing in at 7 feet tall I think he'll ensure a fun yet under control party... just in case the Predator and Wolverine try to take swipes at each other over the food!
