More Beevils

Photos of more Beevils that I have made... and I actually sold one at a local market a few weeks ago!

This little purple Beevil is hanging out on the Hearse.

These are the a few Beevils with bows and eyelashes.

A whole bunch of Beevils sitting on our sofa.

Time for Trickets

Over the past few months I have decided to learn to sew.  Stop laughing. Yes, I heard you snicker.
It's not that I want to learn how to make my own silk trousers or construct a jacket with bat wings, I wanted to see if I could make some minions of my own. You know, to sit on the couch and look blankly at me when I ask the usual question: Do we need more bats or more skulls?

This is my workhorse of a machine.  I have yet to run over my finger with the machine (I've heard that is a typical newbie issue) I have learned that transferring an idea in my head is a lot harder to do with fabric than my typical craft medium of paper.  Thankfully there are lots of videos and tutorials for those who are just learning.

While discussing my sewing adventure with my BFF a while back I came up with the name BEEVILS for my creations. It is a combo of Be Evil... you know, to keep with the Halloween theme we have going!

Here are the first two creations I made.

Tomorrow I'll share more of my Beevils!

It's OFFICIAL!

It has been decided that Halloween season officially begins on September 1 and lasts until 11:59 p.m., October 31.  There is far too much to see, do, taste, touch, listen to, scare, hide and/or run from to contain within the 31 available days in October.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Let the countdown begin!

Welcome September!

September?! Really, where did the summer go? Contemplating projects, envisioning new spooky items in our home and of course the ever dreadful typical work day. This past summer has been rather uneventful for us. Most of the Halloween conventions and gatherings in the early part of the year were missed due to work obligations and/or nasty weather. Now with the misty mornings, warm afternoons and chilly evenings, it's time to get serious about planning for the big day! Time to get back to blogging about our Halloween home and projects.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Let's start the countdown to October 31st, shall we?
303 days until ghosts and witches and skeletons walk the streets, so until then...

All done.

The weather was cool and it rained all darn day but we put up the tent to cover the back of the hearse (which was opened so people could look inside) and some of the non-weather proofed items didn't make an appearance but gosh darnit we had 80 Trick or Treaters come to our door on October 31. What a wonderful turnout of kids, teens and parents.

Photos taken in the days leading to the BIG DAY...

Double, Double Toil And Trouble; Fire Burn, and Cauldron Bubble

This is very cool - I'd love to have something like this in my kitchen... alas my stove is situated on an island so there is no back wall for this wonderful  wall decal.
