Photo Day 1
As promised - a few photos.
This devil-face door knocker was found at an antique store in the Quinte area. Very nice store - lots of goodies for those who are into antiques. It's actually hanging on the outside of the front shed (where we store our trash bins and outside tools - the owners before us converted the garage to a den and the small space leftover was made into a shed for outside storage).
Our mailbox and Halloween Plaque. Since the house was built in 1953 we thought it appropriate to use that as the established date.

100
Now isn't this interesting... today our countdown will start. All the countdown calendars in the house have been changed to reflect the fact that as of today, it is 100 days until Halloween. The year is just flying by!
We have added A LOT of wonderful items to our ever-growing collection. We've attended a few CHA (Canadian Haunters Association) events and have even listed our home haunt on their website. We are gearing up for the big day! I think the best way to celebrate this milestone is to publish some new photos. If you are wondering what our home looks like now (compared to last years photos) stay tuned because I'll be sharing a few photos each day for the next little. Enjoy.

Coming up to 200...
In a few day it will be 200 days until Halloween! Can you believe it?! The cool spring temperatures are not making it easy to start our projects but we have managed to get some of them done. The others will have to wait until Mother Nature co-operates with more heat and less wind.
In the meantime, I've been busy taking photos and will be sharing them so you can take another tour through our 'Halloween Forever' home. That's probably a good way to celebrate the 200 day mark... guess I better get busy and edit those pics!

Eternal Halloween Love
I've been dying to share these photos. I've been hemming and hawing about getting another tattoo for about a year. I had to find a good artist; I had to make a decision about the placement and I had to finalize the actual design. I had tons of ideas but couldn't make up my mind and being inked is permanent.
While out running errands last weekend we stopped into a new local tattoo shop because they were finally open when we were around (strange hours these shops keep!), chatted with the artist, looked at some of his work and found "THE DESIGN".
I'm not kidding.
This is the PERFECT design. I love bats, I am all things Halloween and the "stone style" is just awesome. I had never seen anything like it but when I looked at the idea sheet I knew this was the design for me. That left me with only having to decide on the placement. We went home, put our purchases away and did some mock-ups for possible placement. After contemplating different areas that could host this wicked design. Many ladies like to have a tattoo on their shoulder, their ankle or low down on their back but I'm the type of person who wants to be able to actually see and enjoy my ink. Why put it in a place where I will have to use a mirror to see it? Nah, not gonna happen. I chose to have it done on the inside of my left calf, strange perhaps but it fits me perfectly.

This is a photo of the finished outline. Even at this stage it looks freakin' awesome!
A tattoo is a permanent marking. It needs to mean something to the person who has it inked onto them. Since I have an eternal love for all things Halloween it really fits my personality and lucky for me it also fits my love of bats. And if I decide to add on to it (a pumpkin, background silhouette bats, etc) the possibilities are endless!
And this is the finished product. Doesn't it look FANGTASTIC?? Sorry, a groaner I know!
As per our usual course, we have named this new Halloween icon - everyone meet my bat, Swoop. OMG Pardon my black slouchie sock! I forgot I had those on when I took this photo.
