Halloween Toys!

This past weekend I finished up the party invitations, made banana bread, got the laundry almost all caught up, made a whack of plushies and had time to enjoy a cuppa tea on the deck, even though it was quite cool outside.  Our temperatures have taken a nose-dive lately - c'mon AUTUMN! 

Then I went through some of my Halloween fabric and decided it was time to make Halloween Beevils. Very happy with the results! Meet Tombstone and Twig.

Skull Candles and more

Came across this site and realized that we have a few of the items in our home already... we have two of these skull candles but I am pretty sure we got them at a local retailer.  There are some neat things here but sadly many of the decor items are not quite what we are looking for.

I've been creating plushies for a while and thought I would share some photos of my finished items.

Trickets are super soft and cuddly and kinda resemble the shape of candy corn...

 

  

Last but not least is Milton.  Isn't he adorable?! 

This pattern was one I bought from ClassyThreads. 

They create kits and patterns for newcomers to the sewing scene.  

I had so much fun making Milton that I had to create more...

Time for Trickets

Over the past few months I have decided to learn to sew.  Stop laughing. Yes, I heard you snicker. 

It's not that I want to learn how to make my own silk trousers or construct a jacket with bat wings, I wanted to see if I could make some minions of my own. You know, to sit on the couch and look blankly at me when I ask the usual question: Do we need more bats or more skulls? 

This is my workhorse of a machine.  I have yet to run over my finger with the machine (I've heard that is a typical newbie issue) I have learned that transferring an idea in my head is a lot harder to do with fabric than my typical craft medium of paper.  Thankfully there are lots of videos and tutorials for those who are just learning. 

While discussing my sewing adventure with my BFF a while back I came up with the name BEEVILS for my creations. It is a combo of Be Evil... you know, to keep with the Halloween theme we have going! 

Here are the first two creations I made.
